What is R-value, and why is it important?

The R-value measures the resistance of an insulating material to conductive heat flow. The higher the R-value, the greater the insulating effectiveness.

Depending on region, it is generally recommended to maintain an R-value between 38 and 60 in your home.

A properly insulated home can:

What is included in the consultation?

Measurements are taken and other project requirements captured.

A quotation will be sent to you within 2 business days of consultation.

Note, the $55 consultation fee counts as credit towards your project.

How long does the installation process take?

Depending on the size of the area, most installations are completed within a day.

What R-value should I expect after installation?

At a minimum we aim to deliver an R-value of 44. If you would like installation to target a higher R-value please request that at your consultation.

After installation will the new insulation retain it's R-value forever?

No. Materials are expected to settle for the first 12-24 months, and can see up to a 20% reduction in R-value.

Can there be any other costs outside of installation labor and materials?

Yes. If the installation team needs to move things to clear the space to work, then labor will be assessed for this additionally. There may also be carpentry costs required to install platforms and walkways to allow safe access during installation.

Is there any maintenance required?

ProCat insulation is long-lasting and typically requires minimal to no maintenance.

Do you offer any warranties or guarantees?

Yes, we offer a 90 day warranty on our installation and the performance of the insulation.

May I provide my own insulation materials for PreFix to install?

Not at this time.

Do you offer any other kind of fiberglass insulation like rolled sheets?

Not at this time.
